Hi, I’m Alyssa Martin!
I've been an athlete for as long as I can remember, finding joy and fulfillment in the challenges of sports. From my collegiate days playing Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball to 5 years competing in the Age Group and Elite division of Spartan Races, I've always sought out new ways to push my limits and embrace the thrill of competition.
In recent years, I've found my passion shifting towards trail running and the exhilaration of ultra-marathons. This transition coincided with a shift in my health. As I grappled with a chronic health condition, I realized the importance of embracing activities that taught me how to listen and respect my body and meet it where it’s at without judgement.
My journey into personal training began as a way to optimize my own workouts and enhance my athletic performance. This journey soon evolved into a full-time pursuit fueled by a desire to share my knowledge and empower others to reach their fitness goals, feel stronger, and mitigate chronic pain.
Certified as a corrective exercise specialist, I bring a blend of expertise and personal experience to my training programs. My goal is simple: to help you unlock your full potential and achieve lasting results in a way that's personalized and sustainable.
Beyond training, I still enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, though now I play pickup every weekend with a great community of people. I’m also play DnD, read, and am currently writing a book!
MY APPROACH
I am a NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Personal Trainer (CPT), Sports Nutrition Coach (CSNC) and UESCA certified Run Coach who creates science based training programs that are designed to bridge the gap between the worlds of fitness, health and physical therapy. The gaps between these industries creates an under-served community of people who are too healthy for medical intervention but still aren’t able to workout confidently or unhindered by chronic or recurring problems. I also believe in making fitness accessible and maintainable for everyone, regardless of their access to equipment, physical limitations, time constraints and other barriers.
My approach is centered around the belief that a comprehensive and integrative approach is key to achieving long-lasting results. I work with my clients to identify the root causes of their issues and develop customized plans that combine corrective exercises, mobility work, strength training, and nutrition to help them reach their goals.
I am passionate about educating my clients and empowering them to take control of their health and wellness. By building a strong foundation of proper movement patterns and addressing imbalances, my clients are able to improve their quality of life and achieve their desired level of performance. My goal is always to give a client the confidence and education to be able to workout on their own.
